Big Ten Hockey

The creation of the Big Ten Hockey conference has shook up the College Hockey world. There are the haters and the players. Everyone has an opinion about it. Let me know what you think. Does it help the sport grow? Does it hurt it? Will the small schools fade away? Will the Big Ten Expand?  So many things to discuss and all opinions are welcomed. I will give mine shortly.

*A bonus discussion, My former college teammate and now Vancouver Canuck star Ryan Kesler had off season hip surgery. Will he be ready to start the season? Can he overcome the injury and have another brilliant season?

  1. Will Ohio State and Penn State, and possibly Wisconsin, become like the Blue Jays and Devil Rays of MLB's AL East? Michigan State, Minnesota and Michigan are all elite perennial contenders - will this hamper Ohio State and Penn State's chances with such a tough schedule? Will Ohio State be at a disadvantage because of an in state fledgling youth hockey program as compared to such states as Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania (talking limited scholarships and expensive out of state tuition)? And finally, is it fair to such schools as Lake State, Northern Mich, BG & Ferris? I've heard Miami and ND are shopping around to jump the CCHA ship which could spell the end for hockey at these schools and the CCHA conference.
